A post-doctoral position is currently available in the laboratory of Dr. Ken-ichi Noma (http://www.wistar.org/research_facilities/noma/research.cfm) at The Wistar Institute.  The candidate will investigate three-dimensional (3D) genome organization in fission yeast and in human.  The goal of the Noma team is to elucidate roles of the in vivo 3D genome structure in nuclear processes such as transcription, DNA replication and chromosome segregation.  In order to achieve this goal, our group performs genomic assays including chromosome confirmation capture (3C) combined with Illumina sequencing, in addition to fluorescent microscopy, molecular biology and biochemical approaches, and yeast genetics.  We have recently modeled the 3D structure of the entire fission yeast genome using our genomics method and have extended our research to the human genome.  Publications describing ongoing studies have appeared in Nucleic Acids Research 38, 8164-8177 (2010), Mol Biol Cell 21, 254-265, (2010), Cell 125, 859-872 (2006), and Nature Genetics 36, 1174-1180 (2004).
